Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria has honoured Dr. George Moghalu, Labour Party (LP) candidate for the November 8, Anambra governorship election, with an award of excellence in leadership.

The event, which held at Moghalu’s country home in Uruagu-Nnewi, saw a delegation of the bishops led by the Most Rev. Archbishop Mayor (Dr.) Mike Uchenna Chukwudum, who said the recognition was in appreciation of Moghalu’s exemplary leadership over the years.

Chukwudum, who serves as the Overseer of the Conference’s Anambra State chapter, commended Moghalu not only for his recent victory in the Labour Party governorship primary, but also for the integrity and dedication he has demonstrated in public service.

“This award is a reflection of the track record we have observed. We are confident that God is preparing him for greater responsibilities, including the governorship of Anambra State.”

Also in attendance was Bishop Dr. D.C. Okereke, the Chaplain General of the group, who lent support to the commendation and expressed optimism about Moghalu’s chances in the forthcoming November 8 election.

The awardee, Dr. Moghalu, the immediate past Managing Director and CEO of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), in his reaction expressed deep gratitude for the honour.

“I’m truly humbled by this award—especially because I didn’t solicit it.

“This kind of gesture inspires me to do more. I believe that when God calls, He also equips. I am committed to serving my people with diligence and to leaving behind a legacy worth remembering.”

The award marks yet another milestone in Moghalu’s journey as he continues to gain momentum ahead of the gubernatorial race.
