Ahead of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UMTE) scheduled to commence on April 24 across the country, Anambra State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Comdt. Maku Olatunde has ordered deployment of personnel to provide security for the smooth and hitch- free examination across the state.

Maku gave the directives while briefing the Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Heads of Formations and Composite Commanders at the State Command Headquarters Awka.

He said the personnel would respond promptly to duty calls, provide security for the critical infrastructure, prevent intrusion of unwanted persons and uphold the integrity of the examination in all the 33 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers across the state.

He directed that personnel arrive at the centers before 6:00 am each day, emphasizing their key role in screening candidates for prohibited items and maintaining a serene environment throughout the examination period.

He tasked them to caution operatives assigned to the CBT centers to strictly adhere to the guidelines governing the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Examination and maintain utmost professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

The NSCDC helmsman warned against unauthorized persons loitering around designated CBT exam centers and advised candidates against bringing prohibited items, emphasising the command’s commitment to arrest and prosecute anyone found wanting.
