Media Office of Hon Chris Azubogu has dismissed as misleading reports claiming that its principal was no longer interested in contesting the forthcoming Anambra South senatorial election.
The media offie, in a statement insisted that its principal was still in the race, and would commence campaign contest once the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and its party, All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) releases time table for the exercise.
It assured the electorate patiently waiting and yearning to support its principal that their confidence in him would not be taken for granted.
The statement reads,”It has come to the notice of the Azubogu Media Office that some people are going about trying to mislead our teeming and ever enthusiastic supporters.
“They are insinuating that #MrPROJECT, Hon. Engr. Chris Emeka Azubogu is no longer interested in contesting the impending Anambra South Senatorial Bye-election, which both INEC and our great party, APGA are yet to release a time table nor guidelines for.
“Accordingly, the Media Office wishes to use this medium to clarify in emphatic terms that Engr. Azubogu, the APGA Senatorial Candidate for the 2023 Anambra South Senatorial Election, sees the impending bye-election as an extension of the 2023 exercise.
“Our Principal shall, by the special grace of God, contest the election once INEC and our great party, APGA, releases a time table for the exercise.
“In the interim, because so much accrues from experience and a deep knowledge of the dynamics surrounding distinctive election contests, what MR. PROJECT will not do is to join the bandwagon of those who have jumped the gun to commence public campaign for an election which time table is yet to be issued by the relevant bodies.
“Lastly, the Media Office profoundly thanks a clear preponderance of Ndi Anambra South electorate who have been patiently waiting and yearning to support the tested and trusted Legislator (whose capacity to deliver as a legislator has been amply demonstrated during his stay in the House of Representatives) to contest the vacant seat.
“The office further assures them that their unwavering confidence in his ability to best represent the wider interest of the Zone will not be taken for granted.”
