Songs of praise to God Almighty filled the atmosphere at the High court 2, Ogidi, as Justice Chukwudi Nwankwo in his judgement upheld Igwe Mac-Anthony Okonkwo as the authentic traditional ruler of Alor Community.

The case which is the fourth court attempt against Igwe Okonkwo by few individuals who include Mr Uzoma Igbonwa,Mr Ifeanyi Obiazi and others, was dismissed for incompetence and lacking in merit.

Igwe Okonkwo jubilating and singing songs of praises to God Almighty for giving him victory, said he never knew God will honour him this way by vindicating him saying that the victory does not belong to him alone but to Alor people as a whole.

While affirming that the traditional throne of Alor Community is rotational, Igwe Okonkwo who is the NUJ Philanthropist of the Decade 2024,said this is his eleventh year on the throne and commended his subjects who have supported him from day one.

Igwe Okonkwo also known as Ezedioramma the third of Alor deeply appreciated Justice Chukwudi Nwankwo, his legal team led by Dr Onyechi Ikpeazu,SAN, and Dubem Anyaigbo,SAN, whom he said fought gallantly to win the case despite all the illegalities and the manipulations from the plaintiff, which according to the law ought not to stand.

Igwe Elibe Okonkwo explained that this is the fourth court attempt against him but the other three were not heard except for this fourth one which Justice Chukwudi Nwankwo dismissed for lacking in merit and he ,Igwe Okonkwo was already in Appeal court noting that he believes that Nigerian judiciary is still the hope of the common man despite the fact that some are afraid of going to courts in Nigeria.

He further said that had it been he failed in court today he would have been in prison but he must appreciate God for vindicating him.

In his remarks, one of the members of the Igwe’s Cabinet,Chief Chukwuemeka Ikegwuogu also pointed out that the ruling reveals that there are still judges who stand up for what is right and called on members of Alor Community to rally round Igwe as he is a peaceful man.

He revealed how the election for the traditional rulership of Alor was conducted of which he was one of the candidates, but Igwe Mac-Anthony Elibe Okonkwo won and some of the contestants who wanted peace to reign in Alor agreed that he should be crowned.

He, however ,added that very few individuals who refused to allow peace to reign are those fighting Igwe Okonkwo through lawsuits but insisted that the truth will continue to prevail.

Another Alor indigene,Dr. Dominic Chigozie briefly gave a run down of when the court cases began, the processes they went through and advised the traditional ruler to keep on doing good to Ndi Alor.

Twenty one gun salutes in the palace of the traditional ruler and another twenty -one gun salutes at one of the community squares heralded Igwe Okonkwo as he returned victoriously from the court.
