Nwoye Distributes 25,000 Wrappers to Catholic, Anglican Women, Car to Constituent Member

The beneficiaries were members of Catholic Women Organisation (CWO) from Onitsha Archdiocese and Aguleri Diocese and Anglican Women from 4 Dioceses namely Niger, Ogbaru, Niger West and Niger East Diocese of the Anglican communion are beneficiaries.

Handing over the clothes of high quality, Senator Nwoye said the gesture was part of the activities marking this year’s 2025 Mothering Sunday.

He said, “I decided to gift these wrappers to Catholic and Anglican Mothers because they are special and important breed in our society, people who make all the difference in the society. The influence of a mother in the lives of her children is beyond calculation.

“I was moved to donate these clothes after an indigent CWO elderly member approached me after I won election as Senator-elect at St Michael’s Catholic Church Fegge Onitsha at a function and begged me to help her and others get this uniform of CWO so that they can always dress to a meeting like other women.

“I was unaware of the importance of the clothes to mothers. I was moved by the elderly woman’s appeal. That is why I procured the clothes for them.”

While warning against selling of the uniforms, Nwoye urged mothers not to be afraid to speak out against poor leadership and societal ills.

“At no point will the uniforms be sold to any Christian Mother within the Senatorial District. Ndi Nne, are known to be agents of truth. Today, Mothers are afraid to speak out against Poor Leadership and the society is suffering from it.

“Kidnapping, ritual killings, armed robbery and quest to get rich quick have taken over our society. We need to rediscover that courage to effect real change in our families, societies, our dear state and Nigeria and it is the mothers that will champion it,” he added.

Receiving the wrappers, Director CWO, Onitsha Archdiocese, Mrs Ngozi Nwanosike, Secretary CWO Aguleri Diocese, Mrs Angela Ejike, representative of Christian mothers from Anglican Communion Ogbaru Diocese, Mrs Uche Igwebuike thanked the lawmaker for the love he showed them, praying God to bless him.

Senator Nwoye also donated a Toyota Corolla car to one of his Constituents, a respected Community Leader and one time House of Assembly Member, Chief Ossy Chinwuba in appreciation for his steadfastness over the years and to help ease his movement within the Senatorial Zone.
