Tension as Gunmen Abduct 4 Travellers along Nsugbe-Otuocha Road, Shot One on Leg

Tension escalated following abduction of four travellers along Nsugbe – Nneyi Umuleri-Otuocha road in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The incident reportedly happened around 9pm on March 21, 2025.
AnambraDaily learnt that one of the victim identified as Dona Ayakalor was abducted alongside his (three) friends and taken into Kidnappers camp, where the gang was demanding for ransom, before the victims could be freed.
A viral video of the incident showed where the kidnappers shot one of the victims’ foot, breaking his ankle, probably to show their seriousness and compel the victims’ relatives to pay ransom.
The victims were seen in the video wailing while one of them was seen making phone call and begging a suspected relative to mobilize funds for his release.
When contacted for reaction, Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga was not available online as at the time of filing this report.
