Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Felix Odimegwu who disclosed this in a chat with newsmen in Awka on the need for residents to be mindful of their environmental practices.

He condemned indiscriminate disposal of wastes, stressing the need for residents to see maintenance of a clean and healthy environment as shared responsibility, rather than duty of the government alone.

He further urged park owners and drivers to educate their passengers on the importance of complying with the government’s environmental regulations.

He warned that government would not only arrest offenders but would also hold drivers accountable and confiscate any vehicle involved in such violations.
