The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reassured of its commitment to conducting credible polls lined up in Anambra State.

Speaking during a media chat at INEC headquarters in Awka, Mrs. Agwu appreciated the role of the media in ensuring accurate and responsible reporting, which contributed to peaceful elections.
She praised the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council, Comrade Emeka Odogwu, for promoting professionalism among journalists.
She also announced that INEC has issued a notice for the Anambra governorship election scheduled for November 2025 and assured that preparations are in progress. Additionally, she revealed that INEC would conduct a senatorial bye-election and a bye-election for Onitsha North 1 Constituency in the House of Assembly, with dates to be announced later.
Mrs. Agwu urged voters to secure their voters card and participate actively in the electoral process, emphasizing INEC commitment to free, fair and transparent elections.
