Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Senator Dr Tony Nwoye and House of Rep member, Anambra East and West federal constituency, Hon Peter Anekwe have expressed satisfaction over progress of work on the ongoing Otuocha-Nzam-Innoma-Ibaji road project.

The lawmakers made the commendation during unscheduled visit to the road project, as a follow up to the earlier working visit last October 2024, aimed at assessing the progress of work on the construction project awarded to NigerCat Construction Company by the Federal Government.

Senator Nwoye and Hon Peter Anekwe who arrived at the site at exactly 8:30 am, were accompanied by some stakeholders of Anambra East and West Local Government Areas.

Speaking on arrival at the site, Nwoye stated that the unscheduled visit was for him and Hon Macpee to have a firsthand witness of the ongoing developments and to ensure the Contractor mobilised by the Federal Government was at the site.

“We also want to have a personal assessment of the quality and pace of work being done by NigerCat Construction Limited, the construction firm handling the Road Project.

Nwoye stressed the need for all stakeholders, including community leaders, Traditional Rulers and villagers to give the Construction Company the necessary support and assistance to ensure it delivered projects that meet the people’s expectations.

“Frankly, l commended NigerCat Nigeria Limited for its dedication and professionalism in executing the road construction project.

“I call on community leaders, Traditional Rulers and villagers to give the Company the necessary support and assistance in order to deliver projects that meet the expectations of the people,” he added.

On his part, Anaekwe (Macpee) reiterated their commitments in making sure that the road received all the necessary funding from the Federal Government for the road for the benefit the users.

He said: ”l commend NigerCat for the quality service delivery because the importance of delivering durable and long-lasting road infrastructures that would benefit Ndi Anambra and the food people of Kogi State, even for years to come cannot be overemphasized.”

Earlier, the Site Engineer of NigerCat Construction Company who was at the site at the time of the visit, welcomed the Senator and Hon Member.

He took them round the first culvert which was about to be completed and also to the second site of the second Culvert, which they were about to embark on.

He informed the lawmakers that they were starting with the reconstruction of the five culverts at the road, assuring them of quality work on the road.

“We are raising the culverts to a new level so that when flood comes, it will not disturb the road users. The new culverts will be more than 50 metres high,” he said.
