Anambra State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anambra State Command, Commandant Maku Olatunde in company of other service commanders on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to Col. Adamu Kabir Muhammad, the Commander, 302 Artillery Regiment, Nigerian Army Onitsha over the passing of Lieutenant-General Taoreed Lagbaja, who up until his demise the Chief of Army staff (COAS).
Maku in an emotion laden speech condoled with the Armed Forces of Nigeria, family and friends of the late Lagbaja, describing him as one who dedicated his life and wealth of experience to the defense of the nation’s sovereignty.
He stated that the late COAS would be greatly missed for his accomplishments and remarkable service to the fight against insurgency and terrorism in the country.
He urged the Nigerian Army and the family of the deceased COAS to take solace in the fact that he lived a life worthy of emulation as a brilliant strategist, deep thinker and a gallant officer.
Col. Muhammad, Commander 302 (AR) Nigeria Army, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the State Commandant and fellow service Commanders for taking the time to share in their sorrow.
