Anambra South Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Akai Egwuonwu, has called for urgent action to combat pneumonia through early detection, effective treatment, and preventive measures.

Egwuonwu who is also the Managing Director of Anambra Rice Mills made this statement Tuesday as the world commemorates World Pneumonia Day with the theme, “Every Breath Counts; Stop Pneumonia In Its Tracks”.

He noted that the theme underscored the critical value of each breath and therefore called for urgent action to combat pneumonia through early detection, effective treatment, and preventive measures.
