Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo has tasked parents and guardians on proper upbringing of the girl child.
Obinabo gave the advice in her office in Awka during the 2024 International Day of the Girl-child, themed, “Girls Vision For The Future”
She regretted failure of parents, especially in the upbringing of their female wards, challenging them to adapt a closer approach capable of breeding a better parent daughter relationship.
“All hands must be on deck to protect the girl child following very many reports of rape and other kinds of abuse prevalent in the world,” she said.
While highlighting the numerous achievements of Governor Chukwuma Soludo on the protection of girls in the state, Obinabo solicited for more support and participation in well-being of the girl child as future leader.
