Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital, located in Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State has made history following successful surgeries of 10 Interveinal Catheterizations at the Cardiology section by team of VOOM Doctors on the Open Heart Surgery Mission at the hospital.
The hospital has also undertaken unprecedented number of pediatric Open Heart Surgeries free of charge within the past two weeks.
Speaking to reporters at the facility, Executive Director, Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation, Chidinma Okoye revealed another successful surgery carried out on an indigent woman with a serious cardiovascular ailment for over ten years.
She said, “The woman managed to work into the hospital last week Tuesday, the doctors immediately got hold of her, evaluated her same day and successfully operated her the next day Wednesday free of charge.
“She is now back on ground with new life in life, courtesy of the VOOM Foundation doctors & Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation fully commited to the good of humanity.
“For us, this case is spectacular because no other cardiology hospital in Nigeria has performed such a feat of carrying out 10 Interveinal Catheterizations in less than 10 days. This brings new hope to Nigeria’s health Care industry.
“This medical feat has continued to attract attention of well meaning Nigerians who visit the hospital on daily basis to appreciate what the man Engr. Dr. Emeka Okwuosa (AghA Oraifite) has placed on ground for the good of humanity.
