LG Poll: Soludo has Done What Napoleon Couldn’t Do – NULGE Boss

PRESIDENT of Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Anambra State Chapter, Comrade Nicholas Aromeh, says the September 28 Local Government Election in the state is very critical to the people of the state, especially the local government workers.

Aromeh, who made the disclose at a function organized in the secretariat complex of the union in Awka, said that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has taken the bulls by the horns by deeming the local election necessary in his first tenure in office in the state.

According to him, Soludo has done what Napoleon could not do, hence, Ndi-Anambra should rally round his administration in his quest to providing the people with a sustainable and prosperous mega city of his dream.

“If the election will be conducted in accordance with the electoral laws, candidates with the impeccable character, integrity, fear of God and above all, the people’s welfare at heart will emerge the winners at the polls,” he said.

The NULGE boss urged the people of the state to guard against of forms of illicit activities that could mar the election to the detriment of not only Ndi-Anambra, but the entire local government system in the state.

“ANSIEC, should provide an enabling environments for all eligible voters in the state to cast their votes freely at the polls without any iota of intimidation or molestation,” he said.

While pleading with the stakeholders of NULGE in the state to wage into the crisis rocking the union for sometimes now in the state with a view to finding a lasting solution to the crisis, Comrade Aromeh maintained that his leadership would not succeed or achieve much in a chaotic evenronment.

“This work is not for me and my entire executive members alone because it is tedious, on this note, am pleading with some of us who have instituted court case against the union for a reason best know to them to withdraw those case or cases now for the overall interest of the union”, Comrade Aromeh, added.

He stated that with the conducted of the local government election in Anambra state on the stipulated dated that Governor Soludo has fulfilled his promise to the people of the state as a leader who bears the welfare of his people at heart.

The President of the union, who spoke among other things, noted that the union would achieve much in the state when they are united, but only to achieve little or nothing when they are divided among themselves.
