You are what you eat is to say that whatever you put into your system does a great job in you. It may be positive or negative. For instance, if you see a heavy drinker you can use his physical appearances to know. If you see a child not well fed you can as well know.
However, there are some cases where some people naturally appear eating very well but in reality they are poor and never have enough food to eat. Others eat a lot but it doesn’t show on their physical bodies. In other words, there are other things not actually food we can put into our system that can affect us both emotionally and physically. Example stress, worries and anxieties. Sickness and disease can also affect us not minding the kind of food we eat daily.
For this reason, Martha Washington said, “I am still determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may be, for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not upon the circumstances.”
Therefore, if you eat good food but it is not showing in your body, you should check yourself. For either you have a sickness that is eating you up or worries, anxieties and stress.
In a short expression, we want to talk about eating healthy. This means eating a wide variety of foods in the right proportions and consuming the right amount of food and drink to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight. This is not about eating too much food or eating too little.
Healthy food: They are those foods that provide you with the nutrients you need to sustain your body’s well-being and retain energy. This leads us to balanced diet.
