Soludo’s wife celebrate birthday with widows, widowers, PWDs, distributes palliatives, free medical checks

Anambra governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo has described each chapter of her life as reflection of God’s immense grace to be celebrated in appreciation to God Almighty.

She explained that the greatest privilege of being alive was to ensure that such existence was fulfilled through deeds that leave lasting impacts on humanity.

The governor’s wife spoke at an event organized to mark her 54th birthday celebration in Awka where about 5000 less privileged persons, including widows and widowers, received free medical checkups, bags of rice, beans and gallons of oil, wheelchair.

She promised to continue to use her existence to bring greater social change.

“Most significant message of my birthday celebration is to teach people the essence of love and friendship.

“I urge everyone who has celebrated me to live in line with the ideology that a society without love is at war with itself,” she added.

Underscoring the importance of owning household gardens, Soludo’s wife maintained that the only way to beat current food crisis and rising killer diseases was to embrace agriculture in the most organic practice.

Earlier, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo praised the governor’s wife for using her life of kindness, humility and selflessness to change the world around her, extending her prayers for God’s blessings and grace.

Mrs Soludo also distributed 1000 packs of hybrid seeds to support her ongoing free seeds programme and garden campaign.

Dignitaries at the event included Head of Civil Service, Barr Theodore Igwegbe, Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, that of local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Mr Tonnycollins Nwabunwanne, Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South, Mrs Amaka Obi, Executive Chairman of Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, State Women Leader of APGA, Mrs Esther Onyekesi, among others.
