An Anambra entrepreneur and philatropist, Chief Chukwunonso Nwekweghi, has regretted the planned nationwide protests slated for August 1, ocassioned by worsening economic situation in the country.
He however said the protest could be averted if Federal Government would be willing to urgently address those issues that had contributed to making life difficult for the citizens.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after his induction into the Rotary International in Awka, the philantropist appealed to Federal Government to intervene through empowerment of millions of Nigerians with nothing tangible they were doing.
“Things are not normal in the country. But, we believe and hope that in due time, government will pay more attention to youth empowerment.
“Government needs to do something reasonable to stop this protest. It is not something that any country will wish to have. Protest will not be good for the country”
Nwekweghi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Norlux Paint and winner of the prestigious Anambra Brand of the Year award described his induction into Rotary as a morale booster to continue with humanitarian acts he had been known for.
“It is a remarkable day in my life because Rotary is one of the things I do. Even without being a member, I have been involved in charity since these years. I am very happy joining Rotary officially”.
“I was inspired by the mandate of Rotary International, which revolves around charity. I know that the Rotary platform will help me to serve humanity better”.
According to him, apart from those in its employ, Norlux Paint, whose commitment to excellence is further reinforced by its MANCAP certification from Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), has empowered thousands of youth with free trainings for lucrative skills to make them self reliant.
“I have empowered many youths through my company. I will add more efforts in empowering more people, especially the youths.
“With dedication to quality and attention to detail, our products stand out with its focus on durability, weather resistance, and color retention. The precision in production processes ensures that every wall coated with Norlux Paint offers a superior finish that enhances the aesthetic appeal of any space.
“This justifies the prestigious award as Anambra Brand of the Year which will be celebrated alongside brands like Pax Pharmacy, Jolly-jolly noodles, and Aston Malt.
“With over two decades of experience, we have established Norlux Paint as a leading player in the industry, surpassing industry norms and setting new standards.
“In addition to its wide range of products, Norlux Paint Nigeria also offers various services to cater for all painting and decorating needs with a team of trained professionals who give top-notch quality, as well as unmatched value for money,” Nwekweghi assured.
