Nwoye mourns Iwuanyanwu, describes elderstatesman as benefactor, mentor

Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Dr Tony Nwoye has mourned the passing of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide.

He lamented that Igbo nation has lost a great man, patriot and elderstatesman per excellence.

The lawmaker described the death as a great loss to Igbo race and end of an era in Igbo land.

He extolled the virtues of the late Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo President, acknowledging his remarkable and significant contributions to various sectors, particularly in the social, sports, economic and political development of Nigeria.

“Late Elder Statesman Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo lived a purposeful life dedicated to the service of humanity and he will be remembered for his good deeds, philanthropism, bridge building and worthy legacies.

Describing the late Sage as his Benefactor and Mentor during his days as Student/Youth Activist, Nwoye prayed for the eternal rest of his soul.

Chief Iwuanyanwu, a Civil Engineer, was born on 4th September 1942. A politician and businessman, considered as one of the richest Igbo men, Iwuanyanwu became the 11th president-general of Ohaneze Ndigbo following the death of the former president general, Professor George Obiozor.
