UNIZIK Denies Claims on Clemency for Students with Outstanding Carryovers

The Management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State has dismissed recent speculation that it had decided to grant clemency to students with outstanding carryover courses in the school.
The school in a statement issued on Monday, July 1, 2024 and titled: “RE: False Claims on Clemency for Students with Outstanding Carryovers” dismissed the report as false and baseless.

The statement signed by Dr. Emmanuel C. Ojukwu, Special Assistance to VC on Public Relations & Special Duties read:

“Nnamdi Azikiwe UniversityNews, Press
The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka has intercepted a circulating audio clip falsely claiming that the university has granted clemency to students with outstanding carryovers, allowing them to return and ‘sort’ their academic issues.

“We categorically state that this claim is false and baseless. The university upholds rigorous academic standards and adheres to established procedures for addressing academic issues.

“Our academic policies and procedures are clearly outlined in the student handbook. We urge all students to familiarize themselves with these guidelines to avoid misinformation and ensure a smooth academic journey.

“Members of the University community are advised to verify any news related to the institution on our official website (unizik.edu.ng).
