Anambra Govt Rounds-off Screening, Revalidation of Master Trainers for “1 YOUTH, 2 Skills’ Phase-2 Programme
The Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development has concluded the screening exercise and revalidation of the master trainers ahead of the phase two of ths “1 Youth, 2 Skills” programme.
The exercise which lasted for four days at the ASATU Hall, Government House, Awka, saw the screening and revalidation of over 600 master trainers from across the 21 local government areas of the state.
Addressing the master trainers, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba stated that the aim of the exercise was to ensure that the centers where the youths would be trained are of the needed standard.
Mr. Agha Mba praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo, whom he described as youth-friendly, for approving the second batch of the 1Youth2Skills Solution Initiative.
He stated that the second phase of the programme would be coming with a lots of innovations, which include the retraining and certification of Master Trainers by a recognized and reputable agency as a means of ensuring that the quality assurance emphasis of the Governor on the standard of training is achieved.
Mr. Agha Mba further noted that the retraining and certification will be free of charge for the selected Master Trainers as the Governor has graciously approved that the Anambra State Government would bear the cost.
Other innovations to the programme according to the Commissioner, are the Youths To Agriculture Scheme (YTAS), Anawood Scheme, use of GPS Coordinate in project monitoring, Online Entrepreneurship Programme and application of digital technology in data management.
He also said that the second phase of the programme would also witness the empowerment of 10,000 Anambra Youths in the Apprenticeship, Entrepreneurship, Business Financing and Mentorship Schemes of the programme – a 100% improvement on the previous phase.
The Commissioner expressed hope that the beneficiaries will continue to impact positively to the economic growth of the state and revealed that 600 training centers and trainers will be engaged across the state for the second phase.
