Ezenwa Inaugurated as 9th Chairman of ICAN Awka District Society

Mr Francis Ezenwa has been inaugurated as the ninth Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, Awka District Society.

Ezenwa, a graduate of Accounting from the university of Benin was elected alongside 13 other executive members.

In his inaugural speech, Ezenwa promised to prioritise welfare and capacity enhancement of members.

He said the body under his leadership would entrench the culture of accounting by sponsoring prizes for students who did well in basic financial accounting in selected schools in the State.

Ezenwa who took over from Mr. Emmanuel Muodozie, expressed the hope that with the support of members, the association will be taken to great heights including the purchase of district bus.

Delivering a lecture entitled ” Accountants in the new world order: using professional skills to save the world” investiture ceremony which was also used for fundraiser for N20 million district bus, Dr. Greg Ezeilo, Chairman of Anambra State Internal Revenue Service encouraged the members to their services available at all times especially at this challenging time.

Earlier in his welcome remark, Mr Okechukwu Obi, Chairman of the occasion, expressed happiness that the association had continued to thrive over the years.

Obi prayed that the new chairman with his team leads the district to greater height at the end of his tenure.

Dignitaries from different walks of life including HRH Igwe Dr Stephen Ezenwugo, the traditional ruler of Uga in Aguata Local Government Area graced the event.

Other members of exco inaugurated include
Mr Chinedu Anyadufu Vice chairman, Mrs chiamaka Umeuduagu Gen Sec, James Akoha Ass Sec, Amaka Agbata Technical Sec,Toochukwu Onwuegbufo Fin Sec,
and Angela Anika Treasurer amognst others.
