Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anambra State Command has expressed its preparedness to partner with National Orientation Agency (NOA) on the federal government safe school project.
Deputy Commandant, Francis Nnadi made the commitment during his visit to the Director, National Orientation Agency, (NOA), Awka, Mr Edozie Ajaegbu in his office.
He explained that the safe school project was aimed at re-orientating the mindsets of Nigerian school children towards imbibing the core values.
He said, “The essence of the visit is to explore a fertile ground to partner NOA on information dissemination and communicating the project in the communities and schools across the state.
“The project is also aimed at partnering with the greater percentage of Nigerians, especially, NOA in the herculian task of making the people to be security conscious at all times, with particular reference to the school children.”
Underscoring the importance of teaching the children the nity gritties of the security tips starting from homes as the future leaders of the country, the NSCDC boss explained that the project is not only about the school children.
NOA Director, Mr Edozie Ajaegbu while welcoming the NSCDC boss and his team, assured the Agency’s readiness to partner with them, noting that the project is in line with the NOA mandates, with particular reference to attitudinal change among Nigerians.
“NOA has been in the total war against cultism and drug abuse among other social vices in schools across the State. The synergy you seek with us for quality service delivery in the State will work out effectively,” he assured.
