Popular businessman and foremost philanthropist, High Chief Godwin Agbasimelo has declared that an Igbo man from Anambra State remains the best option needed to address the myriad of challenges facing Nigeria at this point in time.
Agbasimelo who is the Founder of the ‘Oga Ndi Oga’ Foundation said it will take an Igbo man like former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi as President to get Nigeria out of the woods.
According to him, people of civil service background cannot fix Nigeria because they lack experience and capacity.
“Nigeria needs a President who have used his brain to develop business, somebody who have done huge business in managing people and managing money and I can assure you that you can get such a President in Igboland particularly from Anambra State.
“What I am saying is that an Igbo man from Anambra like Peter Obi will bring his business sagacity and acumen to bear in building the economy of Nigeria, creating jobs and opportunities as well as mustering what it takes to deal with the security challenges facing the country.
“I can assure you that Nigeria would have been stable under Peter Obi as President and we should not have all these problems of insecurity and economic hardship hurting us badly now,” he said.
The Oga Ndi Oga boss buttressed his point by saying that an Igbo boy will leave his village with a nylon bag in his hand and before you know it he will use his brain to develop huge business, buy land and build shops, build market, build mansion in the city and go back to the village to build another mansion.
“There is no gainsaying the fact that such people like Ndigbo who know how to develop business and build business from zero to hero with their brain are the kind of people that can handle the bad situation of things we have in Nigeria.
“Make no mistake again to believe that someone with background as civil servant will muster the strength to fix Nigeria, no, it is not possible because civil service is much about paper work and so civil servants lack the experience and capacity on how to build the economy, create jobs and possibilities and then deal with security challenges.
“What we need to fix Nigeria is someone from the business world like Anambra State where Peter Obi comes from. I am very sure that Peter Obi will muster what it takes to fix Nigeria because he has done it before as governor of Anambra State”
Speaking in the same vein, the Oga Ndi Oga boss tipped himself as the one with the best plan to take Anambra State to greater heights not as a governor but as a leader behind the scene with immense experience, ideas and knowledge on how to render good governance in the Light of the Nation State.
He noted that he demonstrated his sagacity in leadership by building Labour Party to unprecedented reckoning during 2021 governorship election in Anambra State adding that Labour Party was on the threshold of winning the 2021 governorship election in Anambra State before the candidate of the party was kidnapped without release two months to the election.
He lamented “I picked a relatively unknown Labour Party and made it a mass movement that shook Anambra State using Oga Ndi Oga Foundation as the wheel but unfortunately the enemies of progress succeeded to kidnap my cousin Mr Obiora Agbasimelo who was the governorship candidate of Labour Party for the 2021 governorship election in Anambra State.
“The kidnapping of Obiora disorganised our plan toward the election because we rather went into mourning the absent of our candidate instead of going on with our campaign.
“I can assure you that Labour Party would have emerged winner of Anambra 2021 governorship election if our candidate was in the ballot paper because we have taken over the scene with mass movement and unbeatable campaign train,” Oga Ndi Oga pointed out.
He said he will use the same method with which he transformed Labour Party to transform Anambra State if given the opportunity to handle the Anambra situation behind the scene.
“I used Oga Ndi Oga Foundation to transform Labour Party into a national reckoning in Nigeria. The adoption of Labour Party by former Governor Peter Obi as platform to contest Presidential election is not unconnected with mass movement of the Labour Party in 2021 governorship election in Anambra State.
“Similarly, I will use the same method to transform Anambra by offering good ideas and knowledge that will guarantee the desired good governance using Oga Ndi Oga Foundation as the wheel, so let me use this opportunity to call on the good people of Anambra State to join the movement of Oga Ndi Oga Foundation to take Anambra to greater heights”
