Anambra’s improved road network providing accessibility, connectivity for corps members – Soludo

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has reassured corps members deployed to the state of his administration’s continued provision of welfare services to ensure their comfortability to discharge their assigned responsibilities.

He also said the improved road infrastructure in the state had continued to ensure their safety and security while carrying out their duties.

Soludo spoke on Tuesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe, NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu during the opening ceremony of the orientation course for corps members.

The governor, represented by Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Agha-mba charged the corps members to be security conscious by being at the right place at the right time.

He said, “We have successfully completed the construction of 250 kilometers of roads in just two years. The achievement is a testament to our commitment to progress and growth in Anambra State.

“First and foremost, these newly constructed roads provide enhanced accessibility and connectivity for you during the service year. You will now have smoother and more convenient journeys to your places of primary assignment.

“Moreover, the improved road infrastructure ensures your safety and security while carrying out your duties.

“Now that you are deployed to contribute your quota to the rapid development of the state, I assure you of maximum security.

“To demonstrate the high commitment of my administration to your security, all security operatives in the state are working assiduously in synergy and round the clock.

“It needs also to be emphasized that you ought to be security conscious by being at the right place at the right time.
Earlier, State Coordinator, Mrs Blessing Iruma revealed that a total of 1,702 corps members, comprising 770 males and 932 females were deployed to the state.

Describing the corps members as special, Iruma expressed joy that they were quickly adjusting to the camp environment as well as participating in camp activities.

“It is equally heart warming to state that their level of discipline so far is impressively high. I, therefore encourage them to maintain the positive disposition.

“It is essential to state that the orientation course which you have started is designed to give you insight into the operations of the scheme. It is equally meant to prepare you for a successful service year.

“Additionally, the orientation exercise will equip you with leadership, physical, mental training as well as Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development,” she added.
