Renewable energy: Chidoka Foundation facilitates empowerment training for Anambra youths

Former lawmaker representing Idemili North and South LGAs in the green chamber of the National Assembly, Hon Obinna Chidoka has again facilitated a 6-day empowerment training on renewable energy and environment for the youths of the constituency.

The training which ran between March 4th to 10th 2024 which was handled by National Center For Energy and Environment (NCEE) and Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) was in collaboration with Orange Business Solutions and Services Ltd.

Lead instructor, Engr Blessing Eguriase noted that the beneficiaries, have been exposed to the six days of intensive training and have been given a headstart for an assured future of financial independence.

He said that practicals and quality training were made available to the beneficiaries who according to him are expected not to only run with the acquired knowledge but fly with it.

He noted that installation differ from manufacturer to manufacturer as each company has different procedures for installing their products but added that the training the beneficiaries have been exposed to is a broader one.

He however urged the trainees to always endeavor to read the manufacturer’s manual very well before embarking on installation, noting that the road side Engineers don’t have patience for reading the manuals.

“We also trained them on main solar system, carried out practicals at the Obosi town hall which is equipped with Solar Powered Mini Grid installed by Hon. Chidoka, he asserted.

A beneficiary trainee, Uwaezuoke Titus Ebele from Ideani community thanked God for the opportunity to participate, adding that he learnt a lot of things that will help him in life during the training.

He appreciated Hon Obinna Chidoka Foundation, Engr Blessing Eguriase and his crew and all the people that made the program possible.

“By the grace of God, I will start up an outfit of my own based on the intensive training I have received all thanks to Hon Chidoka but I will allign with persons in the field. I will not by any means sell the tool kit graciously made available to me,” he stressed.

The highpoint of the six day empowerment training program was presentation of certificate of participation, tool kits and cash to the trainees.
