Mr. Marcel Udeh, has reportedly blamed the devil and hunger for shooting his son at point blank range, for consuming the food he kept in the house without his permission.
Udeh reportedly made the confession in his desperate bid to obtain reprieve from irate villagers who apprehended him, and forced him to lie with the lifeless body of his son.
Meanwhile, AnambraDaily gathered that operatives of the Abia State Police Command have launched investigation into the tragic incident that took place at Eziama Lokpaukwu in Umunneochi local government area of Abia state.
According to villagers, the suspect who had returned home expecting to eat his left over meal, reportedly dashed into his room and grabbed his hunting gun and fired at his son, after discovering that he had eaten the remaining food he kept in the kitchen.
A video making the rounds in the social media since Tuesday, showed the suspect bound hands and legs by irate villagers beside his lifeless son.
Maureen Chinaka, spokesman of the Abia State Police command, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect has since been arrested following a report at the Umunneochi Division.
Hear her: “Yes, we got a report at Umunneochi Division, the suspect has been arrested and the matter has currently been transferred to the SCID for discreet investigation and will be charged to court afterwards.”
