People of Ezumeri Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State have expressed their preparedness to produce the Igwe (Eze-Ora 11) that would be truly commited to the well-being of the people of Oraifite.
They said they have men who could comfortably occupy the Igweship position and bring greater love, unity and understanding among the people of Oraifite.
Addressing newmen on Wednesday, a community leader, Nze Charles Muoma (Chinyelugo Oraifite) said feelers from the four quarters of Oraifite town indicated that the people were looking up to Ezumeri village to present who would wear the Igweship crown in Oraifite.
He warned powers that be to allow the people of Ezumeri to produce the real Igwe Oraifite, insisting that there would be no genuine peace and tranquility in Oraifite until Ezumeri quarters is allowed to produce the monarch.
He said, “Reports from the four quarters of Oraifite town show that the people are looking up to Ezumeri village to present who would wear the Igweship crown in Oraifite.
“The Court by it’s last ruling had cleared grounds for the people of Ezumeri Oraifite to come together and present some one that wil be acceptable to the entire people of Oraifite..
“Ezumeri has men of means and modes who can comfortably occupy the Igweship position and bring greater love, unity and understanding among the people of Oraifite.
“They also have men who had championed tha cause of development in Oraifite .
The Village has also produced men who have done Anambra and Nigeria proud in all spheres of life.
“All the people needed is a conducive atmosphere to give Ndi Oraifite the best in leadership.
“No genuine peace & tranquility in Oraifite until Ezumeri quarters is allowed to produce the Igwe (Eze-Ora 11) truly commited to the well-being of the people of Oraifite.
“Being the eldest village among the three other quarters in Oraifite, people of Ezumeri should be appreciated in their efforts to ensure lasting peace & unity in Oraifite.
“They are set to deliver a brand new Igwe to Oraifite. An Igwe that wil guarantee the rights of all, ensure equity & fairness in all aspects of administration in Oraifite.
“No more intimidation & suppression of the people’s will & mandate. There must be freedom of speech, freedom of expression and freedom of movement in Oraifite.
“Our Igweship is political & not hereditary. It’s only the Obiship that’s hereditary. The powers that be should allow the people of Ezumeri to produce the Real Igwe Oraifite on ground.”
