The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Department of State Security (DSS) in Anambra State have restated their commitments to forge stronger collaboration for the promotion and sustenance of peace in Nigeria.

Both security agencies voiced their commitment on Tuesday 20th of February 2024, when the Anambra State Director of the Department of State Services, DSS, Adesina Bolarinwa paid a courtesy call on the State Commandant of NSCDC, Olatunde Maku at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters, Awka.

Bolarinwa said the essence of his visit was to strengthen the existing cordial relationship with NSCDC and solicits for more fruitful collaboration ahead.

He praised the NSCDC for its contribution to the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure and the sterling successes recorded in the security architecture of the nation.

He sought more cooperation and better synergy with the NSCDC, especially in the area of sharing intelligence in order to achieve a safer society for Anambra citizens and residents.

In his response, the NSCDC State helmsman, Maku Olatunde described the relationship between the Corps and the DSS as rewarding, which, according to him, has helped in promoting peace and reduction of crime across the country.

“I want to commend the Director for partnering more closely with my office in sharing of intelligence since my assumption of office.

“DSS has been a close and dependable ally of NSCDC, we have a record of good working relationship , especially in rendering intelligence where possible on some of the areas that need attention.

“It is our responsibility therefore to sustain the relationship for the betterment of the country” he said.
