Anambra State Commissioner for Housing, Hon Pauly Onyeka, has assured members of the state assembly of a good working relationship to fast track the attainment of the vision of turning Anambra into a livable,smart mega city as programmed by the Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo-led administration.
The commissioner gave the assurance when the Chief Whip of the Assembly, Hon. Jude Ngobili, paid him a courtesy visit at his office at Jerome Udorji Secretariat Complex in Awka.
The he called on the lawmaker to work in close partnership with other legislators from Ekwusigo and Ihiala local government areas to sponsor bills that will promote developmental processes in the two LGAs in particular and the state in general.
“Your work as a lawmaker is critical to the development of the state and your constituency. I believe that this your wonderful move to work with other lawmakers from Ihiala and Ekwusigo in collaboration with other government functionaries in the executive, will make our sub -political zone see development in an unprecedented way”.
Hon Onyeka noted that the two LGAs apart from their physical proximity also share history, culture and traditions which can be explored positively for development.
“We are not just bound by geographical location, we also share a lot of socio-cultural values and norms, which can translate into development if we effectively harness them”.
The Housing Commissioner equally stressed the need to ensure sustained peace and tranquility to pave way for progress and growth in our LGAs.
“So, our partnership should be to entrench peace and stability in the two LGAs. When there’s peace, there will be development,” he said.
The chief whip of the house and member representing Ihiala 1 in the House of Assembly, Hon Ngobili, had earlier appreciated the commissioner for the infrastructural transformation going on in the state under the Ministry of Housing, especially the upgrade of the State House of Assembly.
“Honestly, I am impressed by the quality of work being done by the ministry across the state. They have just delivered a very high quality job on the upgrade of the House of Assembly buildings.
“I believe that we can join forces in fertilizing ideas that will help to transform our two LGAs. If we work together, our people will enjoy more dividends of democracy ,I therefore extend hands of partnership with you and your ministry.
Some other far-reaching decisions were reached between the Commissioner and the member representing Ihiala 1 constituency on how to foster harmonious working relationship between government functionaries from the two local government areas both in executive and legislative arms of government for a symbiotic outcome for the over all development of our dear state areas to sponsor bills that would promote developmental processes in the two LGAs in particular and the state in general.
