The Anambra West Transition Committee has commenced construction of a Jetty at Umueze Anam river bank.

Following this development, the river bank where boats and canoes land is now closer to the place officially designated as motor park by the local government area authority.

The objective of the project, according to the Anambra West TC Chairman, Mr. Felix Ikechi, is to ease the suffering of trekking far distance, sometimes with heavy loads, from the old river bank, to the designated motor park.

“It will also resolve the regular face-off between the host community, canoe and Okada operators”, he said.

He further disclosed that “Anambra West Integrated Development Strategy is in tandem and a major part of Governor Chukwuma Soludo development strategies. Soludo administration’s focus lies in untiring commitment to key pillars of development: security, law and order, infrastructure and economic transformation, human capital development, governance reforms, and a sustainable environment.
