Kudos to the Guardian editorial titled: “Killers of Plateau residents must not escape judgment”, January 19, 2024 for making its clear and unambiguous observations that president Tinubu, like his predecessor, Buhari, is yet to show convincing indication (or even not interested) that he would tackle the scourge of the pervasive and intractable insecurity ravaging the entire country.
Excerpts of the incisive editorial reads inter alia:
“Perpetrators of the Plateau massacre must be arrested, prosecuted, and punished accordingly if the president Bola Tinubu-led federal government must win the war against insecurity and earn the respect of all lovers of peace and justice in and outside the country.
“…It is obvious that the citizens are already tired of the federal government’s mechanical mourning of the victims, compensation of affected families and constant failure to fish out terrorists who carried out mass murder of their fellow human beings, old and young in the country.
“The inability of the government, past and present, to walk the talk in this regard is a confirmation of its failure to perform the most crucial of its constitutional responsibilities, that is, guaranteeing security of life and property of its citizens.
“Tinubu is yet to exhibit political will to tackle the insecurity that is visibly bringing the country to its knees”.
***My comment:
Since its cobbling together of the enemies of Nigeria unity who are the promoters of the Islamization agenda in a political party called “APC”, perceptible and clear minded Nigerians from the southern part of the country knew that the party would not subscribe to the Restructuring of the lopsided Federation to restore realistic principles of federal system of government especially with decentralized security architecture which remains the effective and efficient security arrangement in a heterogeneous society like Nigeria as obtained in Federations the world over.
The rotation of presidency between the north and south was stridently canvassed (with the southerners moping like overfed cows) by the “Caliphate Colonialists and Northern Political Emirates Establishment” so as to suppress the possibility of Igbo man and middle belt christian to become president of Nigeria.
The deft strategy was that when it comes to the north, northern Moslems will hijack it; and when it comes to the south, Moslem Yoruba will be supported by the Caliphate Colonialists to become president with a northern Moslem as running mate. The Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket has been a done deal while the southern politicians were moping.
Forget about the el Rufai’s APC committee on Restructuring the country; it was a cloned committee to create the impression that APC which campaigned on the platform of Restructuring was serious about it. At the end of the jamboree by the committee in touring the six geopolitical zones to sound the opinions of the people on Restructuring what happened? Of course the owner of APC, the confirmed autocrat, president Buhari, laughed and dumped the Report of the committee of the APC on Restructuring the lopsided Federation to restore realistic principles of federal system of government with decentralized security architecture as integral part.
Fact remains that southerners and middle belt ethnic nationalities who are expecting president Tinubu (aka Emilokan) to deviate from the style of governance by his predecessor, might realize that they have been living in fools paradise. In other words, Emilokan is not prepared to decentralize security architecture called mult level policing as obtained in Federations the world over. Ditto for the Restructuring of the lopsided Federation for equity fairness and justice in the distribution of the Commonwealth being solely appropriated by the self acclaimed owners of Nigeria, the “Caliphate Colonialists and Northern Political Emirates Establishment”.
These overt Islamic fundamentalists and sponsors of Islamic militia and marauding terrorists are not moved by the serial blood letting, genocidal gambits, territorial expansion and ethnic cleansing agenda of the terrorists masquerading as herdsmen ravaging the southern Kaduna and middle belt states. After over running these areas, they will move down south (as they are already dealing ruthlessly with the south west in spite of Tinubu being a Yoruba) to “throw the Koran into the Atlantic ocean”, according to the plan of their primary progenitors. Tinubu is merely doing the hatchet job because el Rufai boasted that it was the northern Moslems that worked for Tinubu to move into Aso Rock. Of course he has not refuted the brazen boasting.
May be the admonition of the retired military man from the middle belt, General TY Danjuma that their people should bestir themselves because from all indications, the security agencies are not neutral in the ongoing ethnic cleansing going on in the middle belt areas.
Time has vindicated him going by the overt lethargic posturing of the Tinubu administration, just like its predecessor, Buhari administration, to frontally address the pervasive and intractable insecurity ravaging the entire country. To the Caliphate Colonialists and Northern Political Emirates, decentralized security architecture will truncate Islamization agenda hence the strident opposition to Restructuring governance which decentralized security architecture would be an integral part.
