The President of Imo General Assembly (IGA) Nnewi chapter, Chief Chinedu Igwe has called on Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma to intensify his effort towards keeping the state secure.
Chief Igwe described security as the highest point for any administration noting that little can be achieved in a place devoid of security.
Speaking with journalists on Monday, the IGA boss who doubles as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Suzuki Don International Ltd congratulated Uzodimma over his reelection saying second tenure was unique opportunity for the governor to right the wrongs observable in the first tenure.
He argued that although security is a collective responsibility, the government must sparehead the efforts.
He said, “Now that the governorship elections are over, I congratulate Sen Uzodimma for his reelection, I hope he would address the infrastructural decay in Imo State in his second tenure.
“Imo State has always occupy a unique position in Igboland, it is imperative that infrastructural facilities in the state be stepped up, so that our beloved state can continue to take her pride of place in Southeast in particular and Nigeria in general.”
Reacting to the outcome of the just concluded governorship election, Chief Igwe said he was not surprised that the incumbent governor outclassed candidates of other political parties.
“I said it before the election that opposing political parties were fielding weak candidates against the incumbent governor, so how can I be surprised to see what I saw long time ago coming to pass,” he stated.
