SASA arrests 632 suspects, recover cocaine, mkpuru mmiri, others

Anambra State Anti-Touting Squad, SASA, has arrested 632 suspected touts in various parts of the state few weeks of its inauguration.

Director of Operations of the Squad, Mr. Solomon Onwuemene in a chat with newsmen, said the suspects were arrested during a raid in Onitsha North and South, Ogbaru and Idemili North Local Government Areas of the state.

He listed items recovered from the suspects to include hard drugs like white cocaine, packets of tramadol, mkpuru mmiri among other illegal substances during the raid.

He further revealed that the suspects would be charged according to the law and warned those still involved in such acts to desist forthwith, leave the state or face the full wrath of the law.

While commending Governor Chukwuma Soludo for providing them with enough logistics to do their job seamlessly, Onwuemene assured residents of soon sanitising of the state of touting.

He also lauded Commissioner for Homeland Affairs, Mr. Chikodili Anara for his numerous support to the Squad.
