Mr Efosa Ogieriakhi, Labour Party (LP) Governorship Aspirant in the 2024 governorship election in Edo, has called on electorate in the state to support aspirants with competence and shun moneybags.
Ogieriakhi, a German-based legal practitioner, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Abuja, after his consultation meeting with some party leaders from Edo.
He called on youths in the state to be politically-active and support an aspirant with clear vision to deliver the state from its current challenges.
“I recently had a youth conference in the state and told them that the 2024 election in the state is about their future.
“It is the way they handle this political process that will determine their future. If they handle it rightly and select those with competence and conscience, it will be better for them and all of us.
“I know that the youth in the state are fully behind me and the good thing about Edo youths is that most of them are not money-minded.
“They support substance and that is the only way they know that their future is protected,” Ogieriakhi said.
He said that his decision to run on the platform of LP was because the party was a new platform where people of like minds came together to be active in the political leadership of the country.
According to him, LP is a political party with a difference in the country, adding that other political parties have disappointed the people of the state.
The governorship aspirant said that it would be ‘scary’ for someone like him to be part of political parties that had failed the people over the years.
He expressed the optimism that he would be accepted by LP leaders and people of the state and given ticket the governorship ticket of the party.
Ogieriakhi also said that if given the party’s ticket, he had what it takes to win the governorship election and transform the state. (NAN)
