The police on Wednesday arraigned a 30-year-old hairdresser, Victoria Agbo in a Karu Upper Area Court, sitting in Abuja for alleged breach of contract.The defendant, who resides at Kpeyegyi, Abuja is charged with criminal breach of trust and cheating.She pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecution Counsel, Ayotunde Adeyanju told the court that the complainant, Stella John of Jikwoyi, Abuja reported the matter at the Karu Police station on June 29.He said that the complainant on Feb. 15, entrusted her salon, located in Angwan Hausawa, Karu village to the defendant for commercial purpose.The police alleged that the defendant agreed to remit N20,000 monthly payment to the complainant.“She did not only converted the whole money made from the salon from Feb. to June to her own personal use, but sold weavons, all amounting to N130,950,” Adeyanju said.
He said the offence contravened sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.The judge, Mr Ishaq Hassan, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N150,000 and one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Sept. 6 for hearing (NAN)
