Two suspected tricycle snatchers were on Monday burnt alive by irate mob at Obosi bus-stop, along the Owerri-Onitsha road, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The suspects met their waterloo while attempting to rob passengers in a tricycle.

An eyewitness who identified himself as Ugo Ezeoke said the passengers shout attracted sympathizers and other road users who ran after them and rounded them up.

“On noticing that there was danger, the robbers tried to escape but were caught by the mob who immediately set them ablaze alive with used tyres and fuel,” he said.

Ezeoke said the deceased were among those terrorising passengers, drivers and other road users within the axis of Obosi and Oba communities.

“They normally operate with the tricycle they rob from people but today they boarded as passengers.

“But midway to their destination the two started robbing the passengers who immediately started shouting despite warning that they should be gunned down if the shout,” he stated.
