Anambra Monarch Pledges Throne’s Sanctity, End Retrogression in the Kingdom

The traditional ruler of Abacha, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Godwin Odiegwu has solicited the co-operation of the people of the community to ensure new era of peace and joy was enthroned after a period of retrogression.
He also pledged to uphold the sanctity of the throne as well as carry everybody along irrespective of status.
Speaking through his Cabinet Secretary, Chief (Amb) Jeffery Ubah during his maiden Ofala festival celebration at Abacha Community Stadium, Odiegwu further promised to carry along his cabinet members, town unions and other stakeholders in decision making.
“My slogan and priorities are to pursue anything that will promote peace, development, brotherliness, among other virtues for the town,” he said.
The Royal Father commended the Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led Government for its efforts and commitments to the development of the town, calling on the people of the state to give it maximum support to excel.
“From the impressive achievements the government has so far recorded from the little time he has stayed in office, I’m sure if given maximum support, he will achieve more than all his predecessors in office,” he said.
On his part, Commissioner for Culture, Don Onyenji praised the people of Abacha on their peaceful disposition and maximum support to the monarch as can be attested by their massive turnout for the event.
He pledged his ministry’s readiness to partner with various communities in the state to develop the state culture, just as he enjoined the locals to always live in peace and support their monarch for peace to thrive in the town.
Earlier, traditional Prime Minister of the town, High Chief Onowu Omofia, who doubled as Chairman of Ofala Central working Committee traced the festival’s history as well as various challenges that attempted to derail its celebration.
He described the monarch’s emergence as an act of God, thanking God for making the occasion a reality.
