Joseph Ogundeji, a 30-year-old Prophet of Cherubim and Seraphim Church Ajuwon, Ogun State, has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command for raping two sisters, and impregnating one of them.

Police say the cleric admitted having carnal knowledge of the two under age girls, 16 and 13 years, who regularly attend night vigils and other programmes in his church.
The prophet, according to report, was arrested on November 11 following a formal complaint filed by the father of the two girls at the Ajuwon Divisional Police Station, Headquarters in Ogun state, shortlt after he discovered that one of his daughters was pregnant, and on inquiry, was told that the randy cleric was responsible.

Andrew Akinseye, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the station was said to have detailed his detectives to effect the arrest of the prophet who, according to a Police source admitted his crime during interrogation.
“The prophet admitted that he actually committed the crime. In the course of investigation, it was discovered that the said prophet did not only had carnal knowledge of the 16 years old girl, but her 13 years old younger sister too was defiled by the same prophet,” the source said.

The two victims, the source added, later informed the Police that whenever they went for vigil in the church, the prophet who lives very close to the church would asked them to go and stay in his house after the vigil which always comes to an end around 3 a.m. They stated further that anytime they stay in the Prophet’s house, he used to give them something to lick, and after licking it, they fall asleep only to wake up and discovered that the prophet had had sex with them.

The victims further informed the police that the suspect threatened to kill anyone of them that let the cat out of the bag.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspect be transferred to anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the state Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution, according to Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesman of the Command, who, confirmed the story.
