Fire Guts Anambra Broadcasting Service Facility in Awka

A building belonging to the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), was gutted by fire on Monday.

AnambraDaily gathered that the inferno started in the early hours of Monday October 31, from one of the buildings in the state owned broadcast station at Awka.

A source disclosed that fire fighters from the Anambra State Fire Service battled the fire for hours before it was eventually extinguished.

The Managing Director of ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, reportedly expressed shock over the incident, but thanked God that no life was lost.

Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu was also said to have visited the scene to ascertain the level of damage.

There is no official explanation on the cause of the fire at the time of filling this report.
