Anambra West TC Chairman Flags Off Palm Seedlings Distribution Exercise

Anambra West Transition Committee Chairman, Hon. Felix Ikechi on Wednesday flagged off the distribution of special palm seedlings to all the communities in the local government.

Speaking while performing the function Hon. Ikechi noted that it was one of the pet projects of the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo who has stated the readiness of his administration to champion the distribution and planting of one million combined coconut and palm trees in every household in the state as a away of lifting the masses out of poverty and generate foreign exchange for the state.
Ikechi further disclosed that the distribution of the special palm seedlings was an important milestone in food sufficiency and green revolution of Mr. Governor, noting that coconut seedings would be distributed soonest.

He charged the communities in the area to ensure equitable and fair distribution of the seedings, adding that the scheme would be adequately monitored in order to check the progress and evaluate the success.

The flag off was performed in the presence of relevant Stakeholders, Transition Committee members, Local Government Staff, among others.
