Members of political support groups backing the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, last Saturday took part in the monthly sanitation exercise across the five states of the south east.

The exercise tagged, ‘Papa-Mama-Pikin’ sanitation exercise (Olu Ezi na-Ụlọ) was organized under the aegis of the Coalition for Peter Obi (CPO), an umbrella group for the over 100 support groups backing the Labour Party Candidate.
AnambraDaily can authoritatively report that the CPO sanitation exercise which took place simultaneously in Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi saw thousands of Obi supporters clearing refuse and disposing them inside waiting trucks.
In Awka, CPO members marched from Amawbia roundabout through Eke-Awka to Arroma before heading to the Alex Ekwueme Square.

Addressing participants at Ekwueme Square, the Lead Coordinator of CPO in Anambra State, Comrade Chidi Nzekwe explained that the exercise was designed to remind Anambra residents and entire Nigerians on the importance of keeping their environment clean and participation in the monthly sanitation exercise.

According to him, the exercise was just one of the programmes being organized by the CPO to rally the citizens to join the Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed revolution sweeping through the country.
“This sanitation exercise is just a marching ground to other events that CPO will organize as we rally Nigerians to vote massively for Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election.

“As you may have heard, CPO is an umbrella body for all the support groups working for the Labour Party presidential candidate and his deputy. Why I love this movement is because like EndSARS, it’s an amorphous movement that cannot be stopped. CPO is doing everything possible to ensure that all support groups come on board to work as a unified group to actualize this dream of electing Peter Obi as our next president”, Nzekwe said.

Nzekwe thanked members of various support groups that participated in the sanitation exercise for defying the rain and restriction in movement and urged them not to relent. He hinted that plans are underway to make the participation of members of Obi support groups in the monthly sanitation exercise a regular feature of the CPO activities.

Also in his remarks, Fr. Chukwujekwu Obinna Mmaduabuchi, CPO’s South East Director of Mobilisation and Logistics, also expressed his joy with the huge turnout and conduct of members that took place in the sanitation exercise and urged them not to relent as the CPO has become an important factor in the 2023 presidential race of Mr Peter Obi.
According to Mmaduabuchi, the CPO has become the tyres of the political vehicle which will transport Obi to the presidency. “The support groups are the tyres that propel the vehicle- Labour Party which has Mr Peter Obi as its driver.

Peter Obi is not selfish. He wants all and sundry to get on board because he is driving the vehicle to a new Nigeria, But he cannot come down and drag people inside the vehicle, so we are urging all those who desire a new Nigeria to quickly join this moving vehicle”, he said.
