Islamist terrorists suspected to be members of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP), have raised the stake in their onslaught against Nigerians with the inclusion of President Muhammadu Buhari in their kidnap target.
In a video that has surfaced on the blogosphere, the group who claimed to be responsible for the attack on Kaduna-bound train on March 28, 2022, declared that President Buhari was now one of their targets.
In the fresh video, one of the many, which they have released since the attack on the train, which left Abuja for Kaduna, where many were killed and others left injured, the terrorists, who were captured flogging their victims, also threatened to target Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
The terrorists had recently attacked the Buhari’s convoy in Katsina State, as well as stormed the Kuje Prison in the Federal Capital Territory, where they released almost the prisoners, including 64 of their top leaders.
Apart from threatening the president and the Kaduna State governor, they also threatened to kill the remaining abductees in their custody while selling off the rest, if their demands from the Federal Government were not met, boasting that their aim was to destroy Nigeria.
One of the terrorists, said unless the government complied with their demands, they would turn the area into an abattoir, adding: “This is our message to the government of Nigeria and just as you have seen these people here, by God’s grace, you will see your leaders; your senators and governors will come before us.
“These ones you are seeing here, we will keep some as our slaves and sell them off just as our Imam told you in the past. Just like the Chibok girls that were sold off, we will equally sell these ones as slaves.
“If you don’t adhere to our demands, we will kill the ones we need to kill and sell the remaining. By God’s grace, El-Rufai, Buhari, we will bring you here.”
