LP Anambra Assembly Candidate Vows to Assist Obi Fight Poverty, Unemployment

The Labour Party (LP) candidate for Anaocha 1, Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nkechi Ogbuefi has vowed to contribute her quota to the prosperity and job creation under the presidency of Peter Obi if both emerge victorious in the 2023 general election.

She said she intends to assist the party’s Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, to rescue the country from incompetence, poverty, insecurity, unemployment, hunger as well as bring the most needed dividends of democracy to her constituents.

Addressing reporters in Awka ahead of awareness campaign on the ongoing INEC’s Continous Voters Registration exercise in her Constituency where Obi hails from, Ogbuefi said Obi’s examplary life, sternly initiatives and projects in Anambra as a governor informed her decision to join LP.

She said, “Obi is the right person, Nigerians, irrespective of tribe, ethnic, religion and political affiliation should vote for at this trying time. God has given us a rescuer, a saviour, an Icon of Nigeria politics, who happens to come from my Constituency.

“I have seen the good examplenary, sternly initiatives and projects he has done in Anambra state, then as a governor, and which is why I decided to join Labour Party to bring dividends of democracy to my Constituency. 

“I want to assist him to change lives, change the status quo of bad leadership that is troubling our dear nation right now.

“I am a humanitarian with several non-governmental organisations (NGOs), where we have offered a lot of free medical services and feeding programmes across the country including the last flood menace in 2013, where we gave out relief materials to Internally Display Persons (IDP), in some of the most affected states.

“I’ve been on ground doing a lot of humanitarian services to assist the poor masses, especially, in the four communities that constitute Anaocha 1 State Constituency; Agulu, Adazi-Ani, Adazi-Enu and Adazi-Nnukwu.

“This is my third time of contesting. I have contested the same position in 2013 under PDP and in 2017 under APGA and I believe this is the right time for me touch and change lives of my people with the joint effort of our leader, Mr. Peter Obi.

“By God’s grace, why our brother, Obi, who is the incoming President will be at the Aso Rock Villa, we will be in the state to assist him in rescuing the nation from poverty, insecurity, unemployment and hunger bedeviling our beloved country, Nigeria at the moment.”
