Pope Francis Appoints 7 Priests from Onitsha Archdiocese as Monsignors

Pope Francis has appointed seven priests of Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha as Papal Chamberlains- Monsignors designates.

The Archbishop of Onitsha and Metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Archbishop Valerian Okeke made the disclosure on Saturday during the Priestly Ordination of nine new Priests at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha.

The newly appointed Monsignor designates include: Very Rev Msgr. Francis Ezumezu, Very Rev Msgr. Cyprian Ubaka, Very Rev Msgr. Kyrian Udegboka and Very Rev Msgr. Godwin Okolo. Others are Very Rev Msgr. Maurice Obiagwu,
Very Rev Msgr (Prof) Nicholas Akwanya and Very Rev Msgr. Theophilus Odukwe.

According to Archbishop Okeke, the new Monsignors would be invested as Papal Chamberlain in a subsequent date in September 2022.
