High Chief, Barr. Patrick Agbata, Chief Priest of ‘Ogwugwu Nwanyi‘ deity in Obi Ogbuonyeukwu Okpalaeze Kingdom, Umuezealor village, Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra state has disclosed that the manhunt for fake native doctors by Governor Chukwuma Soludo has restored security in the state.

Fielding questions from newsmen during the celebration of the deity, the Chief Priest who is called ‘Akadike Ogidi, by his admirers, reiterated that the fake doctors are more dangerous than the kidnappers and armed robbers who according to him are accomplishes in crimes.

“Soludo has tried by picking them and they are now on the run, only the natural native doctors that administer drugs made of roots and leaves to patients are around, including those native doctors/ traditionalists that feed deities and make prophecies now stay.

“These fake native doctors that call themselves Okite, Ezenwanyi, among others are the Yahoo boys you hear about and armed robbers, they are not spirits. They deceive our youths to be involve in the get rich quick syndrome and the youths abandon education and learning trade.

“They don’t want to look like some of us whose clothes and shoes have worn out in the legal practice as we don’t have money to replace them, talk less of procuring air conditioned vehicles.

” I was called to come and serve as Chief Priest to our deity, ‘Ogwugwu Nwanyi’ and if I had rejected the natural call I would have become a mad man and would not have progressed in my legal profession as a seasoned lawyer.

“That I passed the law school and continue to excel in the legal practice, built my house and still building more is the handiwork of the deity. The deity directs me on what to do and say in the court, I have not lost any case in court.

“So today the deity directed me to slaughter a goat on its behalf and celebrate it which I am doing because the gods are wise,” he stated.

Contributing, a visiting native doctor, Chukwudi Michael Ifeacho, from a neighbouring community, Umudioka, commended Soludo for fishing out the fake doctors who he said had dragged the image of the genuine native doctors to the mud because of quest for quick money.

“I was a mad man for seven years, eating from the waste bin at Afor Igwe market until I was made to realize that I am called to rescue my people through traditional medicine practice.

“So those who know they are not called and came in to make money through Okite, Ezenwanyi and others should better turn a new leaf.

“Also I commend Agbata for serving his deity to avoid being killed by the gods. Tradition has been there before our ancestors were born and prior to the arrival of the white man, we use native drugs to cure or heal sickness,” he revealed.
