Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, has been cleared by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to pick the party’s governorship ticket ahead of the November 8 governorship election.

National Publicity Secretary of APGA, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, confirmed that over 3,260 delegates are expected to take part in the party’s primary considered as mere academic exercise as Soludo was already tipped for the governorship ticket.

“The screening process for Governor Soludo was smooth and without controversy. He discreetly obtained his nomination forms in Abuja,” Opara stated.

He further said that, as part of its commitment to promoting democratic principles, APGA had conducted a seamless and transparent screening process for Governor Soludo, clearing the path for his candidacy in the forthcoming primary election.

“Governor Soludo, who has received endorsements from various groups and individuals for a second term, quietly picked up his expression of interest and nomination forms at the APGA National Secretariat in Abuja.

“The party’s National Working Committee, led by Ezeokenwa Sly, has officially certified him as fit to participate in the primary election scheduled for April 5, 2025,” he stated.

This development represents a significant moment in Anambra State’s electoral history, as Governor Soludo becomes the first aspirant to seek re-election based on his proven track record of governance.

The APGA primary election is set to be a historic event, with over 3,260 delegates poised to select their preferred candidate.

Opara praised the party’s leadership for its commitment to peaceful, stable, and transparent politics, noting that the screening process was conducted without any discord.

He also expressed confidence that APGA would continue to make a positive impact in the state through progressive leadership.

“With its emphasis on progressive governance and solutions-driven leadership, APGA is positioned to maintain its positive influence in Anambra State,” he added.
