AGN to Partner Anambra Government on Tourism Development

Actors Guild of Nigeria has declared its readiness to partner the Anambra state government to harness and showcase the potential of tourists sites across the state.

The Chairman of AGN in Anambra state, Mrs Chinyere Anyaegbunam stated this while speaking with newsmen in Awka the state capital.

According to her, series of letters had been written to the state government expressing the willingness of the Actors Guild of Nigeria to contribute their quota in the overall developmental of the. state.

Mrs Anyaegbunam commended the Governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration for the level of development achieved within the last three years he had piloted the affairs of the state, noting that they will keep supporting him to do more for the people.

The AGN Chairman , who regretted that some of its members had died of ill health, noted that the Walk exercise was part of efforts by the new leadership to ensure that actors who put in their best to showcase so many arts do not die of issues that old be attended to.

She explained that the Walk also had a session where Health experts were invited to offer health tips and examine medical status of the members with a view to ascertaining those that needed urgent medical attention ,which would be bankrolled by AGN.

Mrs Anyaegbunam told journalsists that they have stopped members from acting later into the night to encourage them to sleep and have good rest every day .

A former Secretary of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr Ejike Okafor remarked that such initiative had never happened in the association in Anambra State especially the routine check which is aimed at ensuring that members remain healthy while offering their best to the society.

Adressing the members of AGN at the Awka City Stadium, the Commussioner for Health in Anambra state , Doctor Afam Obidike while commending the association for recognizing the importance of exercise to healthy living said the state would continue to partner them in all their activities.

AGN members in their numbers took part in the Walk which started from Aroma Junction down to kwata, to Awka City Stadium, Unizik Junction before ending with eye checks and other medical examination.
