The flagship political support structure of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Anambra State, Ikemba Front, has chided Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi for endorsing Governor Chukwuma Soludo during a visit to the state.
Umahi had shortly after flag-off ceremony of construction of access road to the second Niger Bridge linking Delta and Anambra States, phase 2B, openly endorsed Soludo’s second term.
He said Soludo has no opposition to contend with in the state as the Anambra governorship election drew nearer.
But in a swift reaction, National Coordinator of Ikemba Front, Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu berated the Minister for engaging in anti-party activities.
Awogu said the former Ebonyi State governor spoke from the point of monumental ignorance, stressing that the Minister was oblivious of the gains APC has made in Anambra State in recent times.
“Much as we attribute the inglorious comment of the Honorable Minister to monumental ignorance about Anambra political environment and the gains of our party in the state, we condemn in the strongest possible terms the statement as spewed by the uninformed Minister.
“It’s somewhat of a gibberish coming from a supposed party man. One wonders what sort of point he intends to score with such self-serving statement?
“Umahi is part of the clique in the South-East that does not wish APC to win in Anambra State for selfish reasons, so they will continue to pillage the State and share slots meant for the State at the federal level among themselves in the pretense that the State is not with the party at the centre.
“It’s all perfidy and narrow-interest. I challenge the Minister to show the world his result as a sitting governor of a state in the election that produced Mr. President.
“He couldn’t deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his state as a serving governor. His presidential election result for APC was a disaster. But let an APC government emerge on November 8, 2025 in Anambra State and see if Anambra APC will not deliver Mr. President in the 2027 presidential election” he said with air of confidence.
Awogu called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to call the Minister to order stressing, “We call on Mr. President to reprimand the Minister for going beyond his briefs and for indulging in anti-party.
“The Minister is not aware that the party in Anambra State has been rejuvenated and placed on winning ways.
“He can’t say there is no opposition if he is not oblivious of the grassroot appeal the party now enjoys in the state, courtesy of the commitment of the members of the party in Anambra State.
“The Minister may also not be aware that Ndi-Anambra are very eager in their avowed move to return to the centre this time around.
Describing as far cry Soludo’s attempt on infrastructure and human capital development which Umahi said had humbled the opposition if an APC government was in power in the State, Awogu said the party would achieve far more in less than one year what Soludo claimed to have achieved in three years.

He expressed confidence that APC would thoroughly defeat Soludo in the coming governorship election as the masses had pitched their tent with the party in the State.
