Tinubu Appoints Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas Military Administrator for Rivers State

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas (retired) as the new military administrator of Rivers State.

This development comes after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, sacking the executive Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy and other elected officials in the state.

As a seasoned military officer, Ibas brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as the 22nd Chief of the Naval Staff from 2015 to 2021.
