3rd Anniversary: Anambra House of Assembly Passes Vote of Confidence on Governor Soludo

Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for his performance within three years in office.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze stated this during while speaking with Journalists in his office in Awka on the achievements of the present administration so far.

According to the Speaker, the vote of confidence, was informed by reports he got from various legislative committees that showcased the Governor’s performance in terms of infrastructure, security, human capital development, education, youth empowerment, agricultural revolution, transformation of the House of Assembly Complex, societal reformation, welfare of the citizenry among areas.

  “When you look at all those sectors, governance and reforms in government, I think this is the right time to pass a vote of confidence that Mr Governor is doing well.You can pass now from Awka to Orumba in less than 30 minutes, Ekwusigo from Awka in less than 40 minutes, and you can go to Owba Ofemili, Ebenebe, Owerre Ezukala seamlessly on good roads." 

“I have been telling some stakeholders that it’s not about Anambra of today but Anambra of 10 to 15 years. If you don’t start the infrastructural expansion of Anambra now, it will be very late to start tomorrow.”

Mr Udeze expressed the confidence that with good motorable roads being done within the state, the state was on the right path for economic growth a d development.

The Speaker noted that the legislative arm have no doubt contributed immensely to the successes recorded by the present administration especially in solving the security challenges in the state through the prompt passage of the Homeland Security Law.

“Early last year, we had a meeting with Mr Governor and agreed that the only way to fight crime is to make law; and we started looking at the old laws in terms of security. This was how we developed a framework and eventually produced the Homeland Security Law. Since we passed the law, potential culprits are on the run in the name of ‘Oso Soludo’ thereby restoring sanity in our land”, the Speaker concluded.
